Periodic Table of the Elements Essay | Teachers' Domain

This essay, written for Teachers' Domain, describes the observations and foresight that led Dimitri Mendeleyev to develop the modern periodic table of elements. Yet, Russian chemist Dmitri Mendeleyev had no knowledge of atomic structure or the existence of many of the elements recognized today.
