        Lt Warneford shoots down a Zeppelin raider over Belgium on 7th June 1915 and wins the Victoria Cross

        Crosby, Frederick Gordon (1885-1943) (after); British. Medium: colour lithograph. Reginald Alexander John Warneford (1891-1915), Royal Naval Air Service officer. Warneford was forced to land behind enemy lines after downing the German airship LZ37 but managed to repair his aircraft and return to base. He died in a plane crash ten days later.
