In this video segment from Teaching Middle School Physical Science, teacher Nadine Coletta helps her sixth-grade students through the end of the prediction-making process. After conducting the experiment, Coletta asks students to think about their data and conclusions in the light of their background knowledge and original predictions. She has student groups share their findings and then asks them to think of further questions to investigate based on their new understanding. Through these tasks, Coletta is able to help her students connect their progressing knowledge and experiences.
