Conduct an Investigation | Animal Adaptations

A first grade class conducts an investigation together to find out how an otter stays warm in a snowy climate. Cups of ice covered with light and dark paper serve as models for otter bodies, and a lamp is a model for the sun. The teacher describes each component of the investigation before they get started.
