        The Coastal Zone: Morris Island (00:01:56)

        The size and shape of Morris Island has changed dramatically since Confederate batteries there protected Charleston Harbor during the War Between the States. As a transgressive barrier island, its shoreline is constanfly changing. The old abandoned lighthouse there now lies several hundred feet off shore.
