Pike Pease (1867-1949) served as Unionist Member of Parliament for Darlington from 1898 to 1923; in 1923 created baron Daryngton; portraits of the Leader of the Unionist Party, Arthur Balfour and the Liberal Party, Herbert Asquith; election resulted in a hung parliament and a second election was held in December, 1910; Provenance: Private Collection.
