        Aubert, Joseph (1849-1924); French. Medium: pen and ink on paper. Instigated by Jean Baptiste Carrier (1756-94) an extreme Jacobin; took place between October 1793 and February 1794 and in which special boats were constructed which could drown 100 people at a time; Provenance: Musee d'Histoire et des Guerres de Vendee Cholet, France / Giraudon.
