        Ingres, Jean Auguste Dominique (1780-1867); French. Medium: graphite on paper. Date: 1806. Standing in the centre, Marie Anne Julie Forestier engaged to Ingres, painter herself; her father Charles Pierre Michel Forestier; her mother born Marie Jeanne Julie Salle; signed and dated lower right; the portrait survives in three versions; the Louvre version is the original; the Montauban version appears to be a copy by an another artist, possibly Julie Forestier; the third version is a tracing in the Fogg Art Museum, Cambridge; Provenance: Louvre (Cabinet de dessins), Paris, France / Giraudon.
