Fete de l'Agriculture en l'An 6; Forts de la Halles in their special occasion large hats carry the oldest of their number, seated on a sack of flour and sheaves of corn; young farming and baking women attend them carrying baskets filled with bread, brioche and ears of wheat; procession to the temple of Ceres, classical goddess of cereals and plants, erected in the Champs-Elysees; a banner expresses honour and homage due to old age; Provenance: Private Collection / Giraudon.
