        The Ambulance de la Presse at Joinville during the Siege of Paris

        Decaen, Alfred (1820-1902) & Guiaud, Jacques (1811-76); French. Medium: oil on canvas. Date: 19th Century. The Parisian Press organised ambulances during the period of the Commune; Joinville-le-Pont was a suburb of Paris on the river Marne; Decaen was responsible for painting the figures in this souvenir picture commissioned by Alfred Binant, Guiaud painted the remainder; Provenance: Musee de l'Ile de France, Sceaux, France / Giraudon.
