Vue du Louvre et les jardins de l'Infante; garden named after the Spanish princess, Mariana Victoria (1718-81) (Marie Anne Victoire d'Espagne), who arrived in Paris in 1721 as a child and the intended wife of Louis XV (1710-74); marriage did not take place and the Infanta returned to Spain in 1724; Provenance: Musee Marmottan Monet, Paris, France / Giraudon.
