Saint Peter of Luxembourg (1369-87); patron saint of the city of Avignon and protector from epidemics and plague; in his ecstatic vision he beheld Christ crucified; portrait originally from the Celestine Convent at Avignon where St Pierre de Luxembourg died at the age of 18; Provenance: Musee Calvet, Avignon, France / Giraudon.
