        Infanta Maria Ana Victoria de Borbón, 1724

        Largilliere, Nicolas de (1656-1746); French. Medium: oil on canvas. Date: 1724. Marie-Anne-Victoire de Bourbon (1718-81); daughter of Philip V (1718-81) King of Spain and Elisabeth Farnese (1692-1766); promised in marriage at the age of 3 to the French King Louis XV (1710-74), then aged 14, she was despatched to France where this portrait was painted of the 6 year old little girl wearing the French royal robes embroidered with fleur-de-lys; in 1725, following a change in marriage plans, she was returned to Spain; in 1729 she married the Portuguese Infante Jos� ,Prince of Brazil and became Queen of Portugal in 1759; Provenance: Prado, Madrid, Spain.
