        French School, (13th century); French. Medium: vellum. Date: 1247-59. Translation de la ch�sse de Ste Genevi�ve; St Genevieve (d.512) is the patron saint of the city of Paris; in 1129 a pestilence broke out at Paris, killing many people; the reliquary of the saint was carried through the streets on November 26 resulting in a miraculous end of the plague; the 'censier' is a list of all the fees paid by the 'censitaires' of the abbey; Provenance: Centre Historique des Archives Nationales, Paris, France.
