        Persian School, (6th century); Persian. Medium: gold, rock crystal, garnet and green glass. Date: 6th Century. Possibly Khosrow I (d.579), Khosrow II (590-628) or Kavad I; title comes from the fact that in the Middle Ages the cameo was believed to be a likeness of King Solomon; Provenance: Bibliotheque Nationale, Paris, France.
