Took place 1st July, 1690 near Drogheda on the east coast of Ireland; it was a turning point in the Williamite War in Ireland between the deposed King James II (1633-1701) and his son-in-law William III (1650-1702) of Orange; struggle between Irish Protestant and Catholic factions; Williamite victory; Provenance: Private Collection.
