A page from one of the only two copies known to exist of the first printing of Handel's Messiah in London

English School, (18th century). Medium: printed paper. Date: 18th Century. George Frideric Handel (1685-1759); this copy is identifiable because of the arrow marking the bars of music; possibly this is the edition printed and published by Randall and Abell in 1767-8; Provenance: Private Collection.
