        English School, (19th century). Medium: engraving. Date: 19th Century. Exeter Exchange, popularly known as Exeter Change, was an arcade on the north side of the Strand, London; the upper floors held Cross's Menagerie which housed lions, tigers and an elephant; the image shows the Menagerie's doorkeeper, dressed as a Yeoman of the Guard; the image was created in the animal's last few weeks at the change before they were removed to Surrey Zoological Gardens; Provenance: Private Collection.
