        Edward Oxford's attempt to assassinate Queen Victoria, 10th June 1840

        English School, (19th century). Medium: engraving. Date: 19th Century. Edward Oxford (1822-c.1900) shot twice at Queen Victoria (1819-1901) while she was out riding on Constitution Hill near Green Park; he was delared insane and sent to Bethlem Royal Hospital; Provenance: Private Collection.
