        The Martyrdom of the Carthusian Monks

        English School, (17th century). Medium: engraving. Date: 17th Century. Between 1535-37 groups of Carthusian monks from the London Charterhouse monastery were hung, drawn and quartered by order of the English government, under the influence of King Henry VII and his break from the Catholic Church; Provenance: Private Collection.
