Bertrand Russell (1872-1970) British philosopher; Dora Black (1894-86) British author; Bertrand and Dora set up the school at their home, Telegraph House, in West Sussex; the children were permitted to skip lessons and they were never physically punished, Russell also refused to teach religion; Provenance: Private Collection.
