The Attah is the ruler of the Igala people of Nigeria, the word 'Attah' literally means 'Father'; sketch made during Richard Lemon Lander's (1804-34) last journey down the River Niger; the Igala people populate an an area of Nigeria at the junction of the Niger and Benue Rivers; Charles Haghe (1810-88); Provenance: Private Collection.
