        Hale House or Cromwell House

English School, (19th century). Medium: watercolour on paper. Date: 19th Century. Hale House in Kensington was demolished in 1853 to make way for Queen's Gate and the Cromwell Road; It was known as Cromwell House as Oliver Cromwell was thought to have lived there at a point although there is no evidence to support this; Sir William Blake acquired the house in 1606; Provenance: Private Collection.
