Four Britons are pulling a plough driven by a Spaniard weilding a whip, while Robert Walpole (1676-1745) draws his sword. In the background, a Spaniard cuts off Captain Robert Jenkins's (d.1743) ear - this incident occured on his journey from Jamaica to Britain, when his ship was boarded by Spaniards.
