        English School, (16th century). Medium: woodcut. Thomas Hill (b.c.1528) author who wrote the first popular book in English about gardening, 'The profitable arte of gardening', in 1563. His most famous work is 'The Gardener's Labyrinth' from 1577. he is also known under the name Didymus Mountain. Provenance: Private Collection.
