        Bewick, Thomas (1753-1828). English. Medium: woodcut. Date: 1797. The Redbreast, more recently known as the European Robin (latin: Erithacus rubecula), most commonly known the Robin. A small insectivorous passerine bird that was formerly classed as a member of the thrush family (Turdidae), but is now considered to be an Old World flycatcher (Muscicapidae).
