        Gate-way of the Bloody Tower, 1830

        English School, (19th century). Medium: engraving. Date: 1830. The Bloody Tower, which is part of the Tower of London, is so called because that is where the 'Princes in the Tower', Edward V and his younger brother Richard of Shrewsbury, 1st Duke of York, are thought to have been murdered by their uncle Richard III (then Duke of Gloucester).
