        Smith, John Thomas (1766-1833). English. Medium: engraving. Date: 1814. At this time Bethlem Hospital, the notoriously brutal hopital for the mentally ill, was located at Moorfields, just outside of the City of London. London Wall is the defensive wall that was originally built by the Romans and until the end of the 18th century defined the boundaries of the City of London. Provenance: Private Collection.
