Title Page for 'King Charls his Starre: Or, Astrologie defined and defended by Scripture, &c.', published 1654

English School, (17th century). Medium: letterpress. Date: 1654. Anonymous Royalist pamphlet, (possibly authored by Welsh prophet and fanatic Arise Evans (1607-1660)) argues that the eclipse was a bad sign for governments, including that of England, and was therefore good news for the exiled King Charles II of England. Provenance: Private Collection.
