        Fantoff Church

English School, (19th century). Medium: engraving. The Fantoft Stave Church is a reconstructed stave church (medieval wooden church) in the Fana borough of the city of Bergen, Norway. On 6 June 1992, the church was destroyed by arson; the first in a string of church burnings by members of the early Norwegian black metal scene. After the fire, re-building was soon begun and was finished in 1997. Provenance: Private Collection.
