The World Exhibition took place in Paris from May 15 to November 15, 1855 and attracted thousands of visitors from the provinces and from abroad. Visitors, who are waiting for the exhibition to open, are enjoying the panoramic view from the column on the Place Vend�me, at this period, before the construction of the Eiffel Tower, the highest building in Paris; Provenance: Private Collection.
