Well, yeah, there's a day that we celebrate. We were here at school. We listened to a speech. . . That guy is Martin Luther King.  Yeah, Martin Luther King, and he had a speech. Right, and he talked about having this dream, and he wanted this change to happen, because people weren't treating each other nicely. 
I treat people nicely.
Yeah, but sometimes people. . .sometimes people did not.  Groups of people didn't treat other groups of people nicely. 
Like in the video Breakfast Club Judd Nelson was teaching people bad things?
(Giggle)
Hmmm.  Sometimes people do teach. . . treat. . .teach other people bad things. And we don't want to learn those kinds of things, do we?

We're going to talk about .  We've been talking about. . . What is this big thing that we've been talking about? This whole movement? Civil . . . Rights. Treating others kindly. Getting groups of people to treat other groups of people kindly.
Speech
Yeah, we heard that speech. We talked a little bit about Brown versus the Board of Education about the desegregation of schools. Bus boycott.  So, we're going to add something new to our timeline here.  But, first of all we're going to . . . It's the sit-ins. We're going to read about that today.

So our sit-ins happened in the 1960's.  I'm going to put it right here.  So what we have up here.  To help us put in perspective of where we're all at is everybody's birthday. So, Sue was born in 1958, which is way. . .which is down here.  I was the next .  I was born in 1973.  Which is in between here.  Jackie was born in 1981.
So, this is the title of our book.  The cover of our book.  It's called, Stand Up, Sit In. Okay?
