Abby Brown: Transportation means getting from one place to another place. Where will you be going today? To a friend's house? Maybe to the library? And how will you get there?

(music)

Abby: Maybe you'll take a car or ride a bus. Every day people all around the world are going places and using different kinds of transportation, like trucks, trains, and even airplanes. People are constantly moving from place to place but we also use transportation to move our things from one place to another place. Have you ever gotten a birthday card in the mail? Mail trucks are used to get letters and packages from one person's home to another. Trucks and trains are used to get food from the farm to the store. Boats and airplanes are used to deliver things across entire oceans. And transportation can be just for fun, like walking or running, riding a bike or even rollerblading.

Abby: Riding on a wagon on the back of a tractor is fun transportation. And babies like to have fun getting places too. And that's only the beginning because if you use your imagination you can invest transportation to take you anywhere. Today I think I'll take my purple rocket ship to explore the stars of outer space!
