Abby: A robot is a machine that acts like a person or does a job for a person. Some robots even look like a person with a head and arms. I've always wanted a robot just like that to clean my room and do my homework. The truth is most robots don't look like people at all. And you probably already have a robot that helps clean your room and helps you with your homework. Robots can be whatever shape it takes to get the job done.

Abby: Zane uses a robot to stay healthy. Her robot makes sure she gets just the right amount of insulin so her body stays healthy and strong. Serena uses a robot to communicate. She just presses a button and the robot does all the talking.

I want to do it again.

Abby: Robots are also used to do jobs in far off places where most people cannot go. This is a special robotic arm on the International Space Station that can be used to lift and move super heavy objects while in space.

Abby: Safety is a huge job for robots. Some law enforcement officers use robots to investigate bombs. Kids can learn so much from exploring and tinkering with robots. They learn to program or write instructions for their robots, they learn to choose just the right pieces and how to fit them together, and kids are always learning how to work as a team. One of my favorite things about robots is how much fun they are!
